WALTZ N°1

VIENNESE ELEGANCE AND SWISS PRECISION

The pure aesthetics of the Waltz N°1 are inspired by Adolf Loos, a one of the most fondamental architect from the early 20th century renowned for mixing minimalism with modern innovations. A true radical with a love of simplicity, his designs were stripped of decoration to leave the purity of functionality with an emotional twist.

THE DIAL THAT WALTZES

The dial of the Waltz N°1 features a geometric pattern, which is divided in half by vertical and horizontal striping. The rotating small seconds indicator, in the shape of a waltzing disc at six o’clock, is cut out of the striping and is thus aligned with the rest of the dial once per minute as it waltzes in a perfect circle. It’s a tribute to the dancing rhythm of the Viennese Waltz – and to the Viennese savoir-vivre, where not every second counts.

Through the sapphire case back, the ultra-thin automatic movement handcrafted in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier reveals itself in full. Its Côtes de Soleil finishing and hand-polished angles speak to the exacting standards of Swiss high-end watchmaking. The decentralised gold-plated micro-rotor keeps the profile elegantly slim. Running at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers 48 hours of power reserve.

MOVEMENT

The Waltz N°1 houses an ultra-thin automatic movement, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Its decentralised gold-plated tungsten micro-rotor keeps the profile elegantly slim while delivering a 48-hour power reserve.

The 41.5mm stainless steel case is closed by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal case back, offering an unobstructed view of the movement within.

DIAL

The dial is divided by precise vertical and horizontal lines. At every full minute, the rotating seconds disc at 6 o'clock aligns perfectly with the pattern. The applied hour and minute hands are set into the dial itself, curved gently upward to follow the slope of the rehaut.

STRAP AND BUCKLE

The silk-matte black leather strap, finished with black stitching, features an inner pattern inspired by Adolf Loos. The push-button folding clasp plays on the contrast between matte and polished surfaces and is adorned with the historical Griffon-badge of Carl Suchy & Söhne.
