ENGINEERING

 
  • Automatic Movement
    A mechanical movement wound by the natural motion of the wearer's wrist, using a rotor that winds the mainspring without manual effort.

  • Micro-Rotor
    Unlike a standard rotor which sits atop the movement, the micro rotor is built into the movement, leaving the watches slim profile untouched.

  • Skeletonized Dial 
    A glimpse into the soul of the watch, an openworked dial that reveals the inside of gears and bridges, celebrating transparency in both mechanics and design.

  • Tourbillon
    Invented in 1801, a tourbillon is a rotating mechanism that houses the escapement and balance wheel, continuously turning to counteract the effects of gravity on timekeeping accuracy.

  • Ultra-Thin Movement
    An ultra-thin movement is a mechanical movement built to minimal height, achieved through miniaturized components and refined construction.

  • Power Reserve
    A power reserve is the length of time a mechanical watch continues running after being fully wound, once removed from the wrist or off the winder.

  • Screw-Down Crown
    It is a crown that screws directly into the case, creating a sealed connection that improves water resistance and protects the movement from dust and moisture.

  • Rhodium-Plated Components
    Rhodium-plated components are movement or dial parts coated with a thin layer of rhodium to prevent tarnishing and give a bright, silvery finish.

  • Sapphire Crystal
    A crystal clear dome of scratch-resistant sapphire, arching delicately above the dial that protects the face.

  • PVD Coating
    Physical Vapor Deposition. A thin, hard surface treatment applied to metal components through a vacuum deposition process, giving increased scratch resistance and a durable colored or metallic finish.

  • Guilloché Pattern
    A finely engraved motif, repeating in hypnotic precision.

  • Côtes-de-Vienne
    A proprietary striped guilloché pattern unique to Carl Suchy & Söhne, echoing the architectural rhythm of Viennese Waltz.

  • Côtes de Soleil
    Radiating from the center like morning light, this sunburst finish captures a soft brilliance. A luminous interplay of shadow and reflection.

  • Concave Flange
    A concave flange curves inward around the edge of the dial, adding depth and directing light across the surface for a more dimensional effect.

  • Integrated Case Design
    An integrated case design blends the case, bezel and bracelet or strap into one continuous silhouette, with no visual break at the lugs.

  • Super-LumiNova®
    It is a luminous coating applied to hands and markers that absorbs light and glows in the dark, allowing the time to be read in low visibility.

  • ADLC
    Amorphous Diamond-Like Carbon is a hard, dark surface treatment applied to metal components, increasing scratch resistance while giving a deep, matte black finish.

  • Dauphine Hands
    Dauphine hands are faceted, triangular hands with a straight tapered shape, catching light along their edges for strong visibility and a classic look.

  • Rotating Seconds Disc
    A Carl Suchy signature: replacing the ticking hand with a rotating disc at 6 o’clock. The pattern aligns once per minute in perfect synchronicity with the dial, waltzing forward in a visual loop of continuity.
